북한, 대규모 대남 비방 전단 살포 약속

North Korea is printing anti-Seoul propaganda leaflets in large numbers and preparing to send them across the border to South Korea, the country's state media said on Saturday. The North has sharply ratcheted up tensions with the South in anger over anti-Pyongyang leaflets flown from the South.

북한은 대남전단을 대량으로 찍어 국경을 넘어 남한으로 보낼 준비를 하고 있다고 북한 관영 매체가 토요일 보도했다. 북한은 남한에서 날아온 대북전단에 대한 분노로 남측과의 긴장을 급격히 고조시켰다.

The North's Korean Central News Agency website showed pictures of North Korean workers sorting printed propaganda flyers in piles. One of them showed pictures of President Moon Jae-in with dirty cigarette butts in a plastic bag.

조선중앙통신 웹사이트는 북한 노동자들이 인쇄된 대남 전단을 무더기로 분류하는 사진이 게재됐다. 문재인 대통령의 사진들이 더러운 담배꽁초와 함께 비닐봉지에 담겨 있는 사진도 공개했다.

Sending them to the South is one of retaliatory actions in response to anti-Pyongyang leaflets sent by a group of North Korean defectors using large balloons last month.

대남 비방 전단을 남측으로 보내는 것은 탈북자 단체가 지난달 대형 풍선을 이용해 보낸 대북전단 살포에 대한 보복 조치의 일환이다.

South Korea's unification ministry expressed regret and urged Pyongyang to withdraw the plan immediately, calling it a violation of an inter-Korean summit agreement.

통일부는 유감을 표명하고 남북 정상회담 합의 위반이라며 대남전단 살포 계획의 즉각 철회를 요구했다.

"It is very regrettable that North Korea unveiled via a media outlet its plan to send massive anti-South Korea leaflets, and we demand its immediate halt," the ministry said in a statement.

통일부는 성명을 통해 "북한이 보도 매체를 통해 대규모 대남 비방 전단 살포 계획을 밝힌 것은 매우 유감"이라며 "즉각 중단할 것을 요구한다"고 밝혔다.
