Hyundai Kona named best mini diesel SUV in Germany
현대 코나, 독일서 소형 디젤 SUV 평가 1위
Hyundai Motor's Kona was named as the best mini diesel SUV by Auto Bild, a German automotive magazine, outpacing rivals from Mazda, Dacia and Ford, according to the magazine, Thursday.
현대자동차의 코나가 경쟁사인 마쯔다, 다치아, 포드를 제치고 독일의 유력 자동차 전문지 아우토 빌트가 선정한 최고의 소형 디젤 SUV로 선정됐다고 목요일 보도됐다.
The magazine compared four popular mini diesel SUVs available in the European market — the Mazda CX-3, the Dacia Duster, the Ford EcoSport and the Kona.
아우토 빌트는 유럽 시장에서 운전 가능한 네 가지 인기 소형 디젤 SUV 차량인 마쯔다 CX-3, 다치아 더스터, 포드 에코스포트, 현대 코나를 비교했다.
Of seven categories — body, powertrain, driving dynamics, driving comfort, connected cars, environment and cost — the Kona topped four categories — body, powertrain, environment and driving comfort.
7개 부문(차체, 파워트레인, 주행 성능, 주행 안락함, 차량 연결성, 친환경성, 비용) 중 코나는 4개 부문(차체, 파워트레인, 환경, 주행 안락함)에서 1위를 차지했다.
After the test, the Kona scored 503 points out of 750, outstripping the Mazda CX-3 with 481, the Ford EcoSport with 465 and the Dacia Duster with 456.
차량 평가가 끝난 뒤 코나는 750점 만점에 503점을 얻으며 마쯔다 CX-3(481점), 포드 에코스포트(465점), 다치아 더스터(456점)를 앞섰다.
Auto Bild wrote that the Kona shows an "amazing maturity" and comes in a friendly and skillful design on both the outside and inside. The magazine also complimented the Kona's trouble-free operation and energetic engine.
아우토 빌트는 코나에 대해 외부와 내부가 모두 친근하고 스타일리시한 디자인을 갖추고 있으며 ‘놀라운 성숙함'을 보여준다고 평했다. 이 잡지는 또한 코나의 고장없고 힘 넘치는 엔진을 칭찬했다.
In July, the magazine compared four mini gasoline SUVs — the Kona gasoline, the Renault Captur, the Dacia Duster gasoline and the Opel Crossland X — and named the Kona as the No.1.
아우토 빌트는 지난 7월 소형 가솔린 SUV 4대(코나 가솔린, 르노 캡처, 다치아 더스터 가솔린, 오펠 크로스랜드X)를 비교해 코나를 1위로 선정했다.
Auto Bild, first published in 1986, is one of the top car magazines in Germany, along with Auto Zeitung and Auto Motor und Sport.
1986년에 창간된 아우토 빌트는 아우토 자이퉁, 아우토모토 운트 스포트와 함께 독일 최고의 자동차 매거진 중 하나로 꼽힌다.
Hyundai Motor debuted the Kona in the European market in October 2017 and has been logging stable sales since then. The company sold 9,976 Konas in 2017 and 70,056 in 2018. From January to September this year, the Kona retailed 79,943, up 53.1 percent from 50,216 during the same period a year earlier.
현대차는 2017년 10월 유럽 시장에서 코나를 데뷔시킨 이후 안정적인 판매 실적을 올리고 있다. 현대차는 2017년 9,976대, 2018년 7만56대의 코나를 판매했다. 코나는 올해 1월부터 9월까지 7만9,943대가 판매되며 지난해 같은 기간에 팔린 5만216대에 비해 53.1%나 증가했다.
"Auto Bild's test shows Kona's competitiveness in the European market, and this will be a boost for Hyundai Motor's mini-SUV competition in the region," a Hyundai Motor official said.
현대차 관계자는 "아우토 빌트의 코나에 대한 호평은 현대차 브랜드의 인지도 향상과 함께 치열한 유럽의 소형SUV 시장에서 코나의 선전으로 이어질 것으로 기대된다"고 전했다.
