D: Let me test if your nerves are working fine. Do what I tell you to do.
의사: 우선 신경학적 진찰을 좀 시행해 볼게요, 제가 하라고 시키는 대로 행동해 주세요.
(The doctor tests the patient’s sensation and movements in his limbs and compares the two sides for neurological reflexes.)
(그 후 양팔과 다리의 감각과 운동 및 신경 반사 등을 서로 비교한다.)
D: I don’t see much of a problem with you now. How were your blood pressure and sugar levels these days? Did you faint or have a seizure when you had these weird sensations in your limbs last night?
의사: 진찰해서 보니 다행히 지금은 큰 이상이 없어 보이시네요. 최근 혈압이나 당 조절은 잘 되셨죠? 어젯밤 증상이 있을 당시에 쓰러지거나 경련을 하시지는 않았나요?
P: My blood pressure and sugar levels are fine. And I had no other symptoms.
환자: 네, 혈압과 당 조절은 괜찮습니다. 특별히 다른 증상은 없었습니다.
D: Have you been eating well lately? Did your blood sugar level suddenly go down?
의사: 최근 식사는 규칙적으로 골고루 잘 드셨지요? 혹시 저혈당이거나 그런 경우는 없었나요?
P: I’ve been eating healthy and regularly, and had no problem with my blood sugar level. I did just as I wrote in my diabetes journal. Should I get hospitalized?
환자: 네, 지난번에도 선생님께 와서 당뇨 수첩을 보여드렸듯이 식사도 규칙적으로 했고, 저혈당은 없었습니다. 그럼 혹시 입원을 해야 하나요?
D: Well, this is your first attack ever, isn’t it? And it’s been less than 24 hours since you had it. But you did experience paralysis in one side of your body, and have been treated for hypertension and diabetes already. The fact that the attack lasted for more than an hour also seems to warrant early hospitalization.
의사: 최초의 일시적 허혈 발작이고 지금 발작이 생긴지 24시간도 되지 않았네요. 그리고 환자분 같은 경우 편측 마비와 함께 고혈압, 당뇨의 기저 질환이 있고, 한 시간 이상 지속되는 증상이었기 때문에 입원 치료는 초기에 반드시 필요할 것 같아요.
